Scotland!
Created by
Jonathan created the clown and physical theatre show Scotland! with fellow graduates of Jacques Lecoq's International Theatre School, Oliver Nilsson and Sam Dugmore, to form the theatre company The Latebloomers.
Scotland! is performed with no set, no words, no lighting effects or recorded sound, and just three wooden stools. The show combines mime, clowning, sound effects, Scottish folk songs performed in an original way, and absurd body percussion sequences.
Scotland! was conceived in Bristol (UK) in 2017 and premiered at the Brighton Fringe Festival, and the Prague Fringe Festival in 2018, where it received the Inspiration Award for New Work. Since then it has played to sold-out houses around the world to critical acclaim.
The Latebloomers worked with production company Cluster Arts to tour the UK and Australia in 2019-20. In 2023, The Latebloomers began working with French production company Atypik Production Diffusion and played to sold-out houses at the Théâtre Archipel during the Festival Off d'Avignon 2023. Scotland! returned to the Festival Off d'Avignon in 2024 and toured to multiple venues in France in autumn 2024 and 2025 with Compagnie L'Autre Rive. The show will return to Avignon in 2025.
